CIG Gives Back: Investing in the DMV Community
We spend a lot of time thinking about the big picture, federal infrastructure, national security, mission critical systems. But some of the most meaningful work we've done lately has happened a lot closer to home.
The CIG team is made up of people who live in this region, send their kids to schools here, and care deeply about the communities around them. Over the past year, we've been looking for ways to show up beyond our client work, to be a company that contributes something real to the neighborhoods and organizations that make the DMV area what it is.
What started as a few quiet conversations internally has turned into something we're genuinely proud of. Here's a look at what we've been doing.
Running a Scout Troop's Website and Teaching Digital Safety Along the Way
One of our longest running community partnerships is with a local Boy Scout troop, where CIG manages both the troop's website and the IT security behind it. For a volunteer run organization, maintaining a secure online presence isn't always easy, and it's the kind of thing that can fall through the cracks without the right support.
Sponsoring a Local Little League Team
This one is close to our hearts. CIG is a financial sponsor of a local Little League team, helping cover the costs of equipment, uniforms, and the other fees that can quietly add up and make participation harder for some families.
We know that sports teach kids things that no classroom can replicate how to handle setbacks, how to show up for your teammates, how to work toward something bigger than yourself. The least we can do is make sure cost isn't the thing standing between a kid and that experience. It's a small contribution, but we're proud to be part of it.
Supporting Scientific Discovery Through the Girl Scout Derby
CIG is also a sponsor of a local Girl Scout organization's science derby, an event built around hands on scientific exploration and, honestly, just the joy of figuring things out.
The cybersecurity field needs curious, creative problem solvers. It needs people who aren't afraid to ask hard questions or try unconventional approaches. Events like this science derby are where that mindset takes root, and we believe supporting it is one of the most forward looking investments we can make. We're proud to help provide the materials and resources these Scouts need to compete, experiment, and shine.

We want to be straightforward about something, we're not sharing this to check a box or generate buzz. We're sharing it because community involvement is genuinely part of how we think about who CIG is, not separate from our professional mission, but connected to it.
